A Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki has implored all residents of the state yet to pick up their voters’ cards to do so, in order not to be disenfranchised during the forthcoming elections.
Otunba Opatoki made this call today during a stakeholder consultation meeting with youths across local government areas in Ibadan, held at the House of Chiefs Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, as part of his four cardinal points.
He noted that the voters card remains the only passcode and access to participate in the coming democratic process of selecting leaders across boards, hence the need for them to act fast before it’s too late.
While speaking further on the reason for the meeting, he noted that the consultation with the youth population remains critical, to understand the needs of this age bracket, and also come up with an all-inclusive manifesto.
While answering questions from the youth as regards the alarming security crisis across the nation, he aligned his views with those clamoring for State police, adding that this alongside other local security architecture will go a long way in reducing the ugly security trends.
He lauded the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde’s administration style of leadership which he claims had repositioned Oyo State from what it was to one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation.
He however maintained that Governor Seyi Makinde’s legacy will not be forgotten easily after his tenure ends.
