IBADAN – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has announced the commencement of the third phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, scheduled to run from Monday, May 11, to Friday, July 10, 2026.
The exercise, which aligns with the commission’s approved 2026 timetable, will involve both online pre-registration and physical in-person registration across the state.
In a media release issued recently, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Oyo State, Prof. Adeniran Rahimon Tella, detailed the operational plans for the exercise. He noted that the third phase would feature the rotational deployment of INEC Voter Enrollment Device (IVED) machines across all 351 Registration Areas within the state’s Local Government Area offices. This rotational movement is scheduled to take place from Monday, May 11, to Friday, July 3, 2026
According to the REC, registration activities will be conducted daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays. Prospective registrants can access services at:
• The State INEC Office in Ibadan.
• All 33 INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices.
• Designated rotational centers within the 351 Registration Areas.
Prof. Tella urged the public to take full advantage of what he described as the “last phase” of the current CVR exercise. He emphasized that the window is open for several categories of citizens, including:
• New Registrants: Eligible citizens who have not registered before.
• Transfers: Voters seeking to change their Polling Units or move their registration from one state to another.
• Replacements: Individuals whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are lost or defaced.
• PVC Collection: Citizens who have registered previously but are yet to collect their printed PVCs.
The REC encouraged all eligible residents to visit their respective INEC LGA offices to complete their registration or collect their cards, ensuring they are eligible to vote in upcoming elections.
