IBADAN — The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has categorically denied any involvement in the alleged leakage of the results of the just-concluded Common Entrance Examination, as reported during a programme on a popular radio station in Ibadan.
Describing the allegation as false, misleading, and capable of inflicting unnecessary damage on its reputation and leadership, the board clarified that it plays no role at any stage in the setting, production, handling, or administration of questions for the examination.
In a statement issued by the board, the Executive Chairman, Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, maintained that any attempt to link OYOSUBEB or its officials to the leak is completely unfounded.
“For the avoidance of doubt, OYOSUBEB is not involved at any stage in the conduct, setting, production, or handling of questions for the Common Entrance Examination. Therefore, any attempt to link the board, its Executive Chairman, or its officials to the alleged leakage is completely unfounded,” the statement read.
The board further directed all complaints, inquiries, or concerns regarding the examination to the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which it identified as the sole body responsible for conducting and administering the test.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism, the board urged media organizations to verify information before going to air, warning that it would not hesitate to take strong legal action against any broadcaster or platform engaging in defamatory reports or smear campaigns against its leadership.
“OYOSUBEB further warns that any defamatory statement, false allegation, or continued smear campaign against the person and reputation of the Executive Chairman, Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, by any broadcaster or media platform will be met with strong legal action,” the board added.
While calling on members of the public to disregard the allegation, the board reiterated its focus on strengthening basic education and fostering quality across Oyo State.
