The Department of State Services, DSS has alerted the police and military over an alleged plan by terrorist groups to launch attacks on places of worship, schools, and orientation camps of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Osun State.
According to a memo by the DSS sent to the military, the alleged attackers are currently mobilising resources across the North-Central, North-West, South-West, and North-East regions.

Reacting to the issue, the President of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, said the security report was genuine, adding that religious bodies had been advised to remain vigilant.
Alhaji Olawuyi explained that they had been directed not to allow anyone to park vehicles close to worshippers or congregants during Jumat prayers or other gatherings.
He stressed that nobody should be allowed to sleep in mosques and urged religious leaders and members of the public to be cautious of potentially compromised commercial motorcycle operators and herders.
Also speaking, the Osun State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Reverend John Adeleke, emphasized that the outcome of the meeting with the DSS has been sent to the various religious platforms to tighten their security.
