IBADAN — Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Campaign Council and leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State have called for enhanced synergy, inclusiveness, and reconciliation among all party candidates to ensure total victory at the polls.
The call was made during a strategic meeting convened by the Apex Campaign Council in Ibadan, which brought together the party’s governorship candidate, National and State Assembly candidates, key political stakeholders, and council leaders.
Speaking at the meeting, Oyo State Acting Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal, urged candidates and party leaders to present a united front, maintain strict discipline, and deepen grassroots mobilization across every ward and local government area.
“The task ahead requires unity, commitment, and genuine teamwork. If we are determined to win, every candidate must support one another and ensure that our message gets to the people across all the wards and local governments of Oyo State,” Lawal said.
Director-General of the Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, stated that the council’s mandate extends beyond the governorship contest to securing victories for all APM candidates across the state.
Adeniran added that part of his core mandate includes mobilizing structure and delivering votes for Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition in Oyo State.
He urged candidates to return to their respective constituencies to resolve lingering disputes, avoid unnecessary confrontation, and incorporate the “God-factor” into their campaigns, while announcing plans for zonal reconciliation tours across the three senatorial districts.
Also speaking, APM State Chairman, Otunba Adegbenro Fagbemi, and Alliance Party Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, charged members to work hand-in-hand, describing Governor Makinde as a pillar of hope whose track record provides a solid foundation for the campaign.
In his remarks, APM Governorship Candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, expressed gratitude to the leadership and assured that candidates would leverage the administration’s achievements to drive home their message.
The representative also made contributions pledging commitment to total alignment and grassroots delivery for Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, Hon. Sikiru Sanda; House of Assembly candidates’ representative, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola; and Hon. Najeem Oyesina (Oshine).
The meeting was attended by key campaign officials, including the Deputy Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign, Hon. Saheed Arowosaye; Deputy Directors-General Hon. Siju Lawal (Oyo North), Hon. Ademola Ojo (Oyo South), and Dr. Femi Ojo (Oyo Central); Director of Women Mobilisation, Hon. Ramota Agberemi Dabo; and Director of Youth Mobilisation, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa.
