A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has stated that his bid for the 2027 election is motivated by a desire to serve the people rather than personal gain.

Adelabu announced this on Thursday while speaking to party members and supporters in Ibadan shortly after returning from Abuja.

He stressed that his ambition to lead the state is based on a commitment to inclusive and people-focused governance.

“My ambition to become governor of Oyo State in 2027 is not to enrich myself or favor APC members, but to serve the general population,” he said.

The former Minister of Power assured residents that, if elected, his administration would focus on the needs of the poor, women, youth, and other vulnerable groups across the state.

Adelabu also took the opportunity to dismiss rumors about alleged endorsements before the election, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu has not supported any candidate.

According to him, the President has instead urged party stakeholders to either reach a consensus or conduct a transparent primary election.

He also dismissed claims that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, had endorsed any candidate, calling those reports unfounded.

Reaffirming his dedication to good governance, Adelabu urged residents of the state to support his campaign, promising a government that would serve all, regardless of political affiliation.
