President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the 2026 statutory budget proposal of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to the House of Representatives for consideration and passage.
In a letter dated August 20, 2026, addressed to Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, President Tinubu stated that the fiscal plan was prepared by the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
According to the President, the budget aligns with Section 121 of the Constitution, Federal Government fiscal policies, and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The proposal prioritizes youth empowerment, energy and power supply, education, industrial and enterprise development, health, security, and agricultural productivity, with the ultimate goal of lifting citizens out of poverty.
While requesting the expeditious passage of the budget, the executive note has already been formally acknowledged by the Office of the Speaker during plenary.
