IBADAN — Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Ms Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa as Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation, alongside several other key political and administrative appointees.
A statement issued on Saturday and signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, indicated that the appointments take immediate effect.
With her elevation, Giwa-Onafuwa joins the state’s information machinery, working alongside Mr Yinka Oladoyinbo, the Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation, and Mr Dapo Falade, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation.
In the same vein, Governor Makinde has approved the appointment of Pastor Akin Alamu—the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and former member of the Oyo State Advisory Council—as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
Other new appointees announced by the state government include:
Elijah Kolawole Akanmu: Special Adviser on Housing / Member, Board of the Oyo State Housing Corporation
Sakariya Mohammed Taofik: Special Adviser on Rural Development
Seun Adelore: Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Matters
Gbenga Adewusi: Executive Assistant, Sports Commission (former Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council)
Ogundele Quadri: Special Assistant on Urban Development
Elder Olawale Olugbenga, JP: Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism
Ibrahim Abayomi: Executive Assistant on Works
While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Makinde charged them to approach their new responsibilities with utmost dedication, commitment, and unalloyed loyalty to the government and people of Oyo State.
All appointments, according to the Chief of Staff, take immediate effect.
