Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, is scheduled to present the 2027 Appropriation Bill to the Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
The Governor conveyed his intention to present the proposed budget in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, and read to the lawmakers.
In the letter, Governor Makinde said the presentation was in compliance with Section 121(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, which provides for the presentation of the state’s annual appropriation bill to the legislature.
Describing the proposed 2027 budget as particularly significant, the Governor noted that it would mark the final budget cycle of his administration, making it an important opportunity to consolidate the gains of governance and sustain the developmental achievements recorded since he assumed office.
According to him, beyond its fiscal implications, the budget represents a defining moment to reinforce his administration’s enduring legacy of progress and prosperity.
He therefore requested the indulgence of the Speaker and members of the House to schedule the budget presentation for Tuesday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m., expressing his anticipation of addressing the lawmakers on the occasion.
The presentation will set the stage for legislative consideration of the state’s 2027 fiscal proposal, which is expected to outline the administration’s spending priorities, proposed capital projects and recurrent expenditure for the coming fiscal year.
The 2027 Appropriation Bill will be the final annual budget proposal of the Makinde administration, which is expected to conclude its second term in 2027.
