Look The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the state’s governorship election.
The declaration, made on Sunday by the Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, followed the successful conclusion of the collation process and the final aggregation of results from all 30 local government areas of the state.
According to the official results announced at the collation centre, Governor Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, trailed in third place with 17,180 votes.
With this outcome, Governor Adeleke has secured a fresh mandate to continue his administration, having defeated the APC candidate by a margin of 66,252 votes.
The announcement officially brings the keenly contested exercise to a close, following weeks of intense political campaigns and grassroots mobilisation by the various political parties across the state.
