The Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State Governor, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, has disclosed that Oriyomi Hamzat, the Accord governorship candidate, is not fit to lead the people of Oyo State.
Dr. Olanrewaju made this statement today while featuring on a Splash FM current affairs program, Spotlight, anchored by Tunde Tolawuwo.
The Chief Press Secretary, who is also the Co-Director of Media and Publicity for the APM Guber Campaign Council, noted that Hamzat’s antecedents raise questions about his capacity to manage people.
Referring to the 2024 tragedy that led to the loss of life of several children during a Christmas festival, he pointed out that Hamzat, who was part of the organizers of the event, failed to put measures in place to manage an avoidable disaster.
“He cannot manage just 5,000 people. Do we want to entrust the lives of Oyo residents to an individual who cannot handle just 5,000 people?
“How does he want to manage over 9 million people, the population of Oyo?” Olanrewaju said.
While he conceded that Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat has made a tangible impact in his professional field, he argued that it does not qualify him as fit to lead the affairs of the state.
