The Oyo State House of Assembly Correspondents have commended the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, for what they described as giant strides and outstanding leadership achievements during his tenure as Chairman of the Nigerian Conference of Speakers (NCS).
In a statement signed by the chairman, Oyo assembly correspondents, Mr Mosope Kehinde, the correspondents noted that Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin’s leadership at the national legislative body brought renewed strength, visibility and cohesion to the Conference, while significantly elevating the role of state legislatures in Nigeria’s democratic development.
They praised the Speaker for his commitment to institutional reforms and inter-parliamentary collaboration, stressing that his tenure was marked by progressive engagements with key national stakeholders, including the National Assembly, executive arms of government and development partners.
According to the correspondents, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin consistently used his position to advocate for constitutional reforms, capacity building for lawmakers and improved welfare for legislative staff across the federation, thereby strengthening democracy at the sub-national level.
“Under his leadership, the Nigerian Conference of Speakers recorded remarkable achievements in promoting unity among Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, defending legislative independence and amplifying the voices of state legislatures in national discourse,” the statement read.
The Oyo Assembly correspondents congratulated Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin on the successful completion of his tenure as NCS Chairman and expressed confidence that his contributions would remain a reference point for future leaders of the Conference.
They wished him greater success in his legislative and leadership pursuits, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Oyo State and a pride to the Nigerian legislative community.
