The Presiding Pastor of Victory International Church and Chancellor of Dominion University, Ibadan, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, has advised graduates to seek divine guidance at all times and remain steadfast in their faith as they navigate life’s challenges.
Bishop Adelakun gave the advice today at Wonder City ibadan, during Dominion University’s fourth convocation thanksgiving service.
While speaking on the theme “The Story and the Glory,” the cleric implored the graduates to look beyond their present circumstances with faith, remain focused on their goals, and trust God.
“There is no glory without a story,” he said, urging the graduates not to abandon their dreams because of temporary setbacks.
While drawing lessons from the biblical account of Joseph and Daniel, the cleric maintained that the duo’s experience demonstrated that hardship could precede a remarkable change in fortune, encouraging the graduates to remain committed to their aspirations despite the difficulties they might encounter
He urged the graduates to be deliberate about the people they associated with, warning that the company they kept could influence their decisions, character, and eventual direction in life.
While encouraging the graduates to seek divine direction when making important life decisions he implored them to learn to distinguish between choices driven by personal ambition and those aligned with God’s purpose for their lives.
Bishop Adelakun while wrapping up his sermon urged the graduates not to allow fear of difficult circumstances to prevent them from pursuing their goals; he urged the graduates to remain courageous and faithful when confronted with adversity.
The university had 140 students graduate, including 27 first-class degree recipients, at the fourth convocation ceremony
