The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, on Tuesday expanded his statewide consultation tour to Ibadan, engaging key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the five local government areas that make up Ibadan’s main city.
The high-level meeting, held at the PDP State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, gathered influential party leaders, government officials, and grassroots mobilizers from Ibadan North, Ibadan North-East, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-East, and Ibadan South-West.
Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, accompanied by prominent PDP leaders and stakeholders from Ibarapaland, including Member representing Ibarapa North/Central, Hon. Peter Ojedokun; State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo; former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Yemi Taiwo; former Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hon. Moses Ojoawo; former Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi; and former Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Majekodunmi Aborode, utilized the opportunity to further deepen his engagement with party structures across the state.
In his address, the Speaker outlined his policy blueprint, IGBEGA OYO OMITUNTUN 3.0, presenting his vision for accelerated socio-economic development, institutional strengthening, and inclusive governance in Oyo State.
He stressed the importance of continuity, innovation, and collective responsibility in advancing the achievements of the current administration.
Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin called on the Ibadan PDP stakeholders for their support and cooperation, emphasizing that his ambition is driven by service, capacity, and a proven leadership record.
“I have come to consult, to listen, and to seek your support as key stakeholders of our great party. Together, we can build on the progress already made by our esteemed Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and elevate Oyo State to greater heights,” he said.
In their remarks, party leaders in Ibadan praised the Speaker for his humility, political maturity, and inclusive approach to consultation.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Oyo State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, commended Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin for his consistency and strategic engagement across all levels of the party in the state.
He highlighted that the Speaker distinguishes himself among other aspirants through his deliberate and structured consultation efforts.
He further described Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin as the only aspirant to have engaged every level of the PDP and the only one to present a detailed, well-articulated development plan before the party’s screening committee.
“Your approach to this ambition is commendable. You have demonstrated seriousness, preparation, and respect for the party. The presentation of your IGBEGA OYO OMITUNTUN 3.0 shows capacity and readiness for governance,” Adeleke stated.
Other notable stakeholders at the meeting included High Chief Nureni Akanbi, Chief Ismaila Ashipa, Hon. Remi Ayoade of the Oyo State Advisory Council, PDP Southwest Women Leader Alhaja Modinat Bose Adedibu, Commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs. Toyin Balogun, as well as local government chairmen and PDP party chairmen from the five Ibadan LGAs.
