The chairman Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Adeyemi Akande has refuted claims of vandalism at the Aleshinloye railway area, dismissing rumors that the local Government is destroying property at the site.
Honourable Akande disclosed this in a press release made available to newsmen in Ibadan and signed by the councils head of information unit Oyekunbi Adeniran.
The LGA maintained that the allegations remains baseless and on no account will the local government vandalise or cart away properties belonging to the government, individuals or a group of individuals because of planned development.
Hon. Akande dismissed the vandalism claims as a “ploy by enemies of progress” to stall a vital road project.
He clarified that the work—connecting Alesinloye to 110 Junction—is actually a strategic move to fix infrastructure and ease traffic for residents.
while he notifying that the project has been approved by the state Government over a year now, he said ongoing project were carefully planned and executed in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure minimal disruption and maximum benefit for the community we serve .
Hon. Akande however denied using thugs for the road clearance, stating that security operatives were deployed solely to maintain peace.
He advised that any missing railway properties be traced to local scavengers, not the council.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency, the Chairman urged the public to ignore “malicious rumors” and support the project, which aims to boost the local economy and end traffic gridlock.
