Ahead of the 2027 general Elections, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Commodore Sunday Aneke has pledged the Force’s commitment of ensuring adequate safety and airlifting of INEC staff and election materials when required.
This he stated during his courtesy visit to the Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission Prof. Joash Amupitan at the Commission’s Headquarter in Abuja.
According to him, the Air force has over the years played pivotal role in the nation’s airspace during elections with the view to ensure security, assuring of its periodic assistance when necessary in airlifting staff and materials during elections.
Responding, the Chief of the Nation’s Electoral Umpire Joash Amupitan who lauded the force under its current leadership, stressed the importance of partnering with the Air Force during elections, adding that the Commission would partner with other military Arms for effective service delivery during the 2027 polls.
The event which had in attendance several top officers of the Air force, and INEC Commissioners seeks to strengthen the partnership between both parties as they underscored their shared commitment and corporation towards achieving seamless credible polls.
