The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, has felicitated the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, popularly known as Ijaya, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday, the Speaker described Ojo as a committed public servant, grassroots politician, and dependable partner in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting his contributions to local government administration and the strengthening of traditional institutions across the state.
Ogundoyin, who represents Ibarapa East State Constituency and hails from the same Ibarapa zone as the Commissioner, said the anniversary provided an opportunity to acknowledge Ojo’s dedication to the people and his years of service to Oyo State.
He commended the Commissioner for bringing his wealth of political and administrative experience to bear in discharging his responsibilities, particularly in a ministry that plays a critical role in grassroots governance and fostering relations between the government and traditional rulers.
According to the Speaker, Ojo’s approach to public service reflects the importance of commitment, accessibility, and responsiveness in governance, especially at the grassroots level where citizens directly feel the impact of government policies and programmes.
“Hon. Ademola Ojo, fondly known as Ijaya, is my egbon and a political mentor who has continued to demonstrate commitment to public service,” Ogundoyin stated.
“His dedication to the people and his contributions to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde deserve commendation. His role as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters is particularly important because local government remains the closest tier of government to our people, while our traditional institutions continue to play a significant role in maintaining peace, promoting community development, and preserving our cultural heritage.”
