The Arise and Thrive Growth Initiative (ATGI) has officially concluded its annual SKILLVAULT 2.0 program, graduating 14 young African leaders after an intensive seven-week fully sponsored virtual bootcamp designed to bridge critical soft skills gaps across the continent.
The virtual ceremony, themed “Leveraging Essential Skills in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” brought together participants, facilitators, and industry specialists to celebrate the cohort’s successful completion of the career architecture program.
The Founder and Lead Volunteer of ATGI, Dr. Michael Ihuoma Ogu, in his speech disclosed that the global market space is fast-evolving and technical knowledge alone is no longer sufficient in today’s competitive marketplace.
He stressed that modern employers increasingly demand execution-driven candidates possessing emotional intelligence, personal discipline, and executive presence, a gap SKILLVAULT was specifically established to address.
According to him, during the seven-week training, participants were mentored by a faculty of seasoned industry specialists, including Aramide Kayode (Founder/Executive Director, Talent Mine Academy); Kamiye Olowo (Project Manager); Chinenye Adeleye (Learning and Development Manager, Jobberman); Mofiyinfoluwa (Fi) Okupe (Writer/Writing Coach); and Lillian Onojiiok (Program/Project Manager).
He added that the curriculum covered key operational modules, ranging from structures for personal discipline and mastering dialogue to self-leadership and personal branding.
He disclosed that as part of ATGI’s ethics in maintaining high standards, graduation and certification were strictly merit-based.
Participants were required to meet live session attendance quotas, pass comprehensive assessments, and demonstrate practical impact through assigned tasks.
However, for this cohort, only 14 out of the 29 participants met the merit requirement.
The cohort’s Valedictorian, Joy Egbu, in her speech while reflecting on her experience, described the program as a transformative journey of self-discovery and accountability.
“One of my biggest lessons was: ‘I am the CEO of my career and my life.’ I learned that growth requires ownership and leadership is not simply a title, it is how we influence others and the impact we leave behind,” Egbu stated.
She urged her fellow graduates to prioritize consistency over convenience and impact over applause as they apply their training to transform their respective communities.
Reaffirming its vision, ATGI emphasized its commitment to raising a new generation of young leaders capable of clear thinking, flawless execution, and building sustainable solutions across Africa.
The event however climaxed with Outstanding participants being rewarded with cash prizes and special recognition certificates.
