IBADAN – The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has formally debunked reports of a fractured relationship between his palace and the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
In a statement released Friday by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, the monarch addressed “trending news” suggesting a rift, labeling such claims as unfounded. The palace clarified that there is no conflict between the Olubadan and the Governor.
The palace further dismissed rumors that Oba Ladoja had traveled out of the city to avoid a scheduled coronation ceremony on Friday, April 3rd.
“Kabiyesi is hale and hearty in Ibadan and performing the role expected of him as Olubadan,” the statement read.
According to the palace, the ceremony will not hold because the three High Chiefs set for coronation formally requested a postponement, citing their own unavailability.
This development was reportedly communicated to the state government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
